Just Say Yes.
So I’m walking through the biography section of the bookstore and I come across a book that catches my eye. I’m a bit skeptical but something about it makes me want to take a closer look. I open to the Prologue and I read this:
It was nearly midnight. I was standing in the rain, outside the house of a rich banker in Las Vegas.
I checked my pockets. I had everything I needed. The photos. The keys to the car. The silver pocket watch.
Most important, I had the gun.
Because I had been asked to kill a man.
And I had said yes.
Holy shit!
I keep reading and I’m glad I did. It has been one of the best random finds I’ve ever had. The book is called “Yes Man” by Danny Wallace. I was skeptical about the book because the movie with Jim Carey called “Yes Man” is currently in theaters and I had already seen it.
(Good enough, kinda funny, good message.)
I don’t read books that are merely fleshed out transcripts of the movie but the cover said, “The book that INSPIRED (emphasis mine) the movie.” The book is about a year of his life in which he said Yes to any question or request made of him.
You can imagine all the adventures that kind of behavior could get you into…
Well, let me tell you. The basic premise is the same but the movie is like a speck of gold compared to finding a friggin’ treasure chest.
It’s a life-changing book AND I think is a perfect way to ring in the New Year.
Go and get it… Hilarious, thought-provoking and all around a great read.

I read that book a couple of years ago…totally made me cry. It stumbles a bit when he's trying to show how clever he is, and I still doubt there ever was an old man on the bus giving him a quest — but it's truly great anyway.

This is one of the best and funniest book I have read and it is also inspirational… Really makes you think about where a couple of yeses can lead you… Say yes more
This book WILL change the way you think. I've not read a book in 4 years. It is now my favorite book, and I recommend it to all I come across, friends, strangers, girls I meet.
And it's funny that if you follow the advice of the book, your life will start to pick up, accelerate, things change, they happen.
I'd hate for this to start sounding like a testimonial, so just go buy the damn book. It's good.

Read another book of his called 'join me'. Where he starts a cult by simply putting an ad in the paper saying 'join me, send a passport photo to..'.
Its also very funny, interesting and inspiring in the sense that you never know what will happen if you act on a whim.
